Coming of Age

RyanCE and l are always coming up with fantastic movie ideas. Most of them are comedies, and what l'm about to expound upon is no different.

Take, if you will, so-called 'coming of age' dramas popular in the 1980's. There were so many of them, and most of them are arguably extremely similar. lt's with that in mind that we crafted a parody film sure to offend many with its stereotypes and ideas, a film tentively and originally titled 'Coming of Age'.

Coming of Age tells the tale of 23 year old Stevie Daniels, a man who never went through the stupid, only-mentioned-in-movies notion of 'coming of age.' As such, he acts no older than a pre-teen, despite being in his early 20's. lt all takes place during the 1950's, for added comedy, as well. Stevie's only friends are pre-teen boys who don't even realize/care how much older he is. One summer, the boys set off on a miraculous adventure of sorts, wherein young Stevie comes of age. Along the way, he discovers the joys of 'titty magazines', only called that by foul mouthed children in movies, sipping beer for the first time and reacting with a "YECHHH," looking up a girl's dress, witnessing a random death and contemplating his future, and manning up and leading his friends back to safety from the adventure of a lifetime. He also contends with chewing tobacco, cigarettes, "my fathah's gun," and other wacky misadventures.

Stevie Daniels - Main character, 23 years old. He never experienced a 'coming of age', so he's as such a child like persona trapped in a grown man's body. Over the course of the summer, he embarks on an adventure with his pre-teen friends, an adventure which alters him from shy, mild, and childlike to a brave, ready-to-face-the-world man who values friendship.

Franklin "Chubs" Patterson - Stevie's 13 year old best friend. Fat and constantly wearing a baseball cap, he frequently swears and, much like the other boys, is obsessed with sex, though doesn't quite understand lt. He's offenslve and outspoken, though gets mad if someone mentions hls mother.

Anthony "Tony" Spagliano - A 12 year old with a thick Brooklyn accent. The only words he ever utters ls "bull SHIT."

Pete Hogan - The nerd character who has a knack for making implausible tools out of shit for materials. He also likes to talk a lot, though none of the other kids give a shit and he just rambles on. Constantly references his favorite television show, Space Battles.

Johhny Templeton - 'Cool' kid, a football player for his school. Has an older brother, Gordon, whom he constantly mentions as just getting home from 'the war.' Has an abusive father who beats him. He dreams of making it big in college football and getting away from said abusive father. He hangs out with the group of kids and goes on their journey despite hating them, but in the end, he becomes "one of them".

Susie Rosenberg - Stereotypical tomboy character who's friends with the boys and goes on their adventure. Ends up having awkward sex with Chubs to see what it is. Has her first period on the adventure, as well, to add more awkward drama that's not needed.

Vickie Dubois - The main character's love interest, a shy girl who's 13 years old, and constantly wearing a dress. She's known as 'the prettiest girl' in town, though Stevie is too shy to approach her.

Earth Angel is also neccessary to play at a school social where Vickie realizes she doesn't want to go steady with poor Stevie. And no, it's not like this movie will ever be made.
